The Anniversary
Semi-finalist for the 2004 Academy Awards

The first collaboration between director Ham Tran and Christopher Wong, The Anniversary is a tragic drama about a Buddhist monk in Vietnam, who is haunted by a past involving religious persecution, war, and the events which tore his family apart. Ham and Christopher agreed early on that the score should be subtle, and while occasionally reflecting the style of Asian music, should not be overly exotic.
